She is survived by: her brother James Somers; her sister-in-law Judith Somers of Aiken, SC.; her sons, Scott of Vero Beach, FL and Craig (Rachel) of Cheshire; and her grandsons, Douglas and Derek.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cheshire Lutheran Church in Martha's memory.

“I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Martha will be missed. She was part of a group of teachers who met monthly for lunch and conversation. She taught our nephew, Jonathan at Polk School and sometimes attended functions at Judson (where I taught) with her late husband, Doug. We will remember Martha for her love of flowers and her children and grands whom she often spoke of. Sandy Sakalas”
