She was predeceased by: her parents, Shady Smallwood and Alma Ruth Smallwood; her son Jesse James III; and her siblings, Roosevelt Smallwood, Shady Smallwood Jr., Daniel Spencer and Marie Smallwood Spivey.
She is survived by: her son Donald Ray Outlaw (Melissa) of East Haven, Connecticut.; and her siblings, Nelson Smallwood of Hampton, Virginia, Jimmy Lee Smallwood (Debra) of Hamden, Connecticut, Tommy Wayne Smallwood of Newport News, Virginia and Evelyn Smallwood Ogbonnaya of Hamden, Connecticut.. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
