He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Scherp and Beatrice Scherp (Hallberg); and his nephew Eric Goodnow of Illinois. He is survived by: his sisters, Florence Schimmel of Texas and Evelyn Goodnow of Illinois; and his siblings' children, Mark Schimmel of Texas, David Schimmel of Utah and Dr. Karen Goodnow Murphy of Illinois.
