With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Vasco Cardozo of Colchester, Connecticut, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Vasco left this world on December 9, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family. Though Vasco may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Vasco touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vasco, Sr. Cardozo and Mary Cardozo; his wife Mary Barone; his children, Camille and John; and his sister Josephine.
He is survived by: his son Richard (Josephine) of Kenilworth, NJ; his grandsons, Michael and Anthony; his daughter-in-law Lorraine Cardozo; and his granddaughter Anna Buffenmeyer (Andrew Buffenmeyer).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Aurora McCarthy Funeral Home, Inc. (167 Old Hartford Rd, Colchester, CT 06415). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew Catholic Church (128 Norwich Ave, Colchester, CT 06415). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the New St. Andrew Cemetery.
