He was predeceased by : his parents, James Banic and Fanny Banic (Kefurt); his brother James M. Banic, Jr.; and his children, Carl Banic, Jr. and Bridget Banic.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley Banic of Cromwell; his children, Doris Banic-Hedeen of Rocky Hill and Michael Banic (Elizabeth Johnson) of Boston, MA; his granddaughters, Heather Banic of Boston, MA and Sarah Banic of Boston, MA; and his sister Shirley Jean Banic of San Jose, CA..
