It is with sadness that the passing of Willard Baumgartner of Cromwell, Connecticut is shared. Willard, born on November 4, 1930 in Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on October 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Willard will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Willard by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Willard is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Willard’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Melinda Baumgartner (Hausman); and his brother Raymond Baumgartner. He is survived by: his children, Christa Mallozzi (Ralph) of Stony Point, NY and Nathan "Nate" Baumgartner (Shannon Lathrop) of Manchester; and his grandchildren, Megan Mallozzi, Grace Mallozzi, Katelyn and Dylan Baumgartner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carlson Funeral Home (45 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (77 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Lutheran Church, New Britain.
