He was predeceased by: his parents, Joao Fernandes and Lucinda Almeida. He is survived by: his wife Maria Alice Antunes DeMatos; his children, Isabel Carvalho (Arthur) and Antonio Fernandes (David Rowan); his grandchildren, Ian Carvalho (Brianna), Kristen Raymond (Gary) and Nicole Carvalho; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Cecilia, Drew, Alyse, Jordan and Jayden; and his siblings, Pompeu Fernandes, Maria Manuela Rodrigues Goncalves, Ilidia, Natalie and Fernando.
