It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carolyn Thornton of Danbury, Connecticut, who passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Rankin and Frances Rankin (Bell); and her sister Marilyn. She is survived by: her husband Joseph Wayne Thornton; her children, Joseph W. Thornton Jr. (Christine), Mark S. Thornton (Doreen), Beverly J. Thornton, Matthew C. Thornton (Tammy) and John W. Thornton (Melissa Darveau); her grandsons, Mark Jr., Johnny, Jeffrey, Luke, Noah, Zachary and Jacob; and her great grandchildren, Ashton, Austin and Stella.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Brookfield First Church (133 Junction Rd, Brookfield, CT 06804). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
