She was predeceased by: her parents, Maria Lopes (Ferreira) and Antonio Lopes. She is survived by: her husband Antonio L. Alves; her sons, Tony Alves (Elyssa) and Victor Alves (Susan); her siblings, Manuela (Jose V.), Cidalia (Jose H.), Jorge (Emilia) and Manuel (Anabela); and her siblings-in-law, Elisa Marques (Jose), Mary Jo Sousa (Louis) and Jose Alves (Diane). She is also survived by grandchildren and three great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her memory be made to the Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
