He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara Reiss (Walther) and George L. Reiss Sr.; his daughter-in-law Marilyn Reiss; his siblings, William Reiss and Barbara Varian; and his nephew Jonathan Blom.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Reiss (Guers); his children, Elizabeth Tomlin (Richard) of Palmetto, FL, Lynda Miguel (Mark) of Danbury, George Reiss of Broadalbin, NY, William Reiss (Donna) of Danbury and Robert Reiss of Danbury; his grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsay), Karyssa (Ryan), Joey, Nicole (David), Jonathan, Morgan, Nick and Michaela; his great grandchild Caleigh Rae; and his sister Ellen Blom of Danbury. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
