Gilbert Sanders Obituary

We announce the death of Gilbert Sanders (Danbury, Connecticut), who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 96. Gilbert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Murray Sanders and Florence Sanders; his brother David; and his wife Reva. He is survived by: his daughter Diana; his granddaughter Jill; his children, Gil and Reva; his son-in-law Dennis; his grandchildren, Rebecca (Scott), Michael and Emily; and his great grandchildren, Quinn and Clara.

In lieu of flowers, make sure you show up this November to vote them out – you know who – so that he can rest easy. And remember to call your loved ones to let them know you've made it home safely from wherever you've been. If you are so inclined, contributions in his memory to the American Lung Association, the Alzheimer's Association, PBS, or WNYC would have made him smile.
