He is survived by: his children, Stephen, Susan, David and Martha. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

But Joe also taught by example, demonstrating kindness, compassion, and humility with every patient, whether they were CEOs or secretaries. He was endlessly curious and optimistic about people and the world. Though I'm so sad that he is gone, his memory lives within me. Rest in peace, dear friend.”
