He was predeceased by: his parent Epifania Mejias (Canales Villatoro); his son Elvis Aviles; and his siblings, Alejandro Canales Hernandez, Mingo Canales Hernandez, Reyna Canales Hernandez and Irma Canales Hernandez.
He is survived by: his wife Isalinda De Canales Alves; his children, William C. Aviles, Joaquin Aviles, Edgar Aviles, Ruben Aviles and Deyries Canales Aviles; and his siblings, Aquiloino Canales Hernandez, Francisco Canales Hernandez, Antonio Canales Hernandez, Santos Lino Canales Hernandez, Rufino Canales Hernandez and Maria Audelin Canales Hernandez. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
