He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Ann Lopes (Cordiero); his parents, Fernando Lopes and AliziraBorges Mendes Lopes; and his brothers, Andre Mendes and Antonio Mendes.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Simmons (Corey) of Southbury, Diane Lopes of Plant City, FL and Roger Lopes, Jr. (Heather) of Tampa, FL; his brother Marcel Mendes of Bethel; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Zack and Brooke. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
