He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Smith and Mable Smith; his son Thomas Smith Jr. (Patti Smith); his son-in-law Albert Taylor (Laura Taylor); and his sisters, Evelyn Heyde and Fran Leibold.
He is survived by: his wife Consuelo (Rey) of Danbury; his children, Laura Taylor of Danbury, Patty Fisher (Rich Fisher) of Brookfield, Michael Smith of Leesburg and Cathy Ramey (Mike Ramey) of Danbury; his daughter-in-law Patti Smith; and his grandchildren, Tabitha, Stephanie, Jennifer, Michael, Thomas, Steven, Brook and Lexi. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cornell Memorial (247 White St, Danbury, CT 06810). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Church - Danbury (8 Robinson Ave, Danbury, CT 06810). A burial will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at the St. Peter Cemetery (71 Lake Ave Ext, Danbury, CT 06810).
