He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Hall Topar; his stepchildren, Courtney Mucha (Paul), William Brian Smith (Meredith) and Christopher Emery Smith (Donna); his grandchildren, Stephen, Katherine, Andrew Mucha and Henry William Smith; and his siblings, Kenneth Topar, Robin Anderson (Paul) and Pattie MacDonald (Charlie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
