With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maureen Hartzell of East Haddam, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 20, 2026 at the age of 79. As we bid adieu to Maureen's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Maureen has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her husband John A. Hartzell; her parents, Raymond Alderman and Karrie Alderman (Grey); and her brother Raymond Hartzell, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, John Hartzell, II (Jeanine) and Elizabeth Edwards (James); and her sisters, Polly Beckwith (Alderman) and Fern Alderman. She is also survived by six grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
