With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Robert James Schmittberger of East Haddam, Connecticut, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Robert left this world on June 6, 2025 at the age of 65, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As Robert departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Robert may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Robert leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schmittberger and Elaine Schmittberger (Nemcovsky). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Schmittberger (Bourgeois); and his daughter Janelle Schmittberger (Keith Persson) of Essex. He is also survived by brother, a half brother, and many wonderful cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Spencer Funeral Home (112 Main St, East Hampton, CT 06424).
