With sadness, we share the passing of Eileen Dowd in East Hartford, Connecticut. Eileen, born on April 4, 1932, passed away on July 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jeremiah Dowd; her parents, Michael Griffin and Mary Griffin (Russell); and her siblings, Mary Ellen Sullivan, Cáit O'Sullivan and Thomas Griffin.
She is survived by: her children, Jim (Peg) of Coventry, Mary of Manchester, Madeline LeBlanc (Frank) of Glastonbury, Patrick of East Hartford, Michael of Hebron, Elizabeth of Wethersfield, Joan Robichaud (Mark) of Simsbury, Jeremiah (Stacey) of Granby and Tom (Karolina) of West Hartford; her grandchildren, Heather, Sean (Kate), Eileen, Matt (Caroline), Lindsay (Paul), Conor (Alexa), Hannah, Abigail (Ronak), Jeremiah, Laura, Jack and Patrick; her great grandchildren, Mae Frances, Quinn Margaret, Caleena, Conall and Theo; her sisters, Siobhan Sullivan of West Hartford and Peig Conneely of Ireland; her sister-in-law Máiréad O'Dowd of Ireland; and her godsons, Brendan Russell and Patrick Sullivan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
