With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Phyllis E. Pina of East Hartford, Connecticut, born in Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away on January 30, 2023 at the age of 71. She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Pina and Lelia Pina (Riley); and her sister Maria L. Pina. She is survived by : her children, Dorjan K. Pina of Hartford, Sakari O. Pina of Hartford and Taima C. Pina of New Britain; her grandchildren, Brianna, Calob, Michael, Ma'Kayla and Malachai; her great grandchild Mason Medlin; her siblings, Elizabeth Freeman of Wilmington, NC, Mary "Mae" Glover of Jacksonville, FL, Flora Pina-Flowers of Hartford and Joseph M. Pina of East Hartford; and her godchildren, Carlene Flowers of Middletown, Joshua Smelling of Hartford and Danielle Rismay of North Carolina. She is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews; and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
