Though Donna may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Donna touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Dowd and Rita Dowd (McDermott). She is survived by: her son David Lalama (Sandy) of East Haven; her grandson A. J. Barriger; and her siblings, Kathy Lovanio (Joseph) of Orange, Joseph Dowd Jr. (Veronica), James Dowd of East Haven, Michael Dowd (Tara) of East Haven, Patricia Altermatt (Al) of Branford and Peggy Dowd of East Haven. She is also survived by numerous nieces/nephews, great nieces and nephews and her cat.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (80 Taylor Ave, East Haven, CT 06512).
