He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Bowden and Clara Bowden (Talmadge); his daughter Susan Bowden; and his siblings, Leander Lagerstrom, Augusta Refsbeck, Ruth Tryanow, Alice Sandford and Emily Marchand.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bowden (Lynch); his children, Peggy McLaughlin (Sean) of Branford, Stephen Bowden (Sue) of East Haven and Michael Bowden (Joyce) of East Haven; and his grandchildren, Susan Allen (Jeff), Julie Demsky (Mike), Stacy Gutierrez (Ralph), Matthew Bowden (Melissa), Christina Madonna (Steven), Brian, Ryan Bowden, Stephanie Bowden and Amanda Bowden. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and nieces/nephews.
