He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine Vitale (Giamo) and Ralph Vitale; and his siblings, Mario, Albert, Louis, Frank, Ralph and Ann Vitale.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Vitale; his children, Joseph Vitale, Jr. and Alberta Vitale (Donald Thomas) of East Haven; his grandchildren, Grace Vitale, Joseph Vitale III and David Thomas; his son Joe; his nieces, Caroline and Marylou; his nephew Ralph; Michelle, Irakli, Karen and Carol.
