He was predeceased by: his parents, Cesare Sgrignari and Arcangela Capogina Sgrignari; and his siblings, Giovanna Sordilli, Carolina Margagnoni and Cirillo Sgrignari.

He is survived by: his wife Carolina Palmigiani Sgrignari; his children, Lawrence C. "Larry" Sgrignari (Maryann) of East Haven, Teresa Piscitelli (Vincenzo) of East Haven and Michael Sgrignari; his daughter-in-law Cheryl Sgrignari; his grandchildren, Michael Sgrignari (Richard), Emily McDonough (Craig), Matthew, Christopher Sgrignari, Rose and Giuseppe Piscitelli; and his great grandchildren, Evelyn and Cole McDonough. He is also survived by his family, leaving behind his wife and two young sons.
