It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raul Mercado Rivera of East Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Mercado and Isaura Rivera; his stepson Antonio Rosario; and his brothers, Victor and Héctor Mercado.
He is survived by: his wife Justina Mercado (Escobar Falú); his daughter Gloree Mercado (Reynaldo Pérez) of Waterbury; his stepchildren, Maria Rosario (José Medina) of Canovas, PR, Maribel Márquez Rosario (Samuel) of New Haven and Enrique L. Rosario of East Haven; his sister Carmen Mercado of Groton; his grandchildren, Katya K. Pérez Mercado, José A. Medina, Karime Rosario, Omar Medina, Ryan J. Pérez and Axel Rosario; and his nieces and nephews, Lissette Mercado, Yalitza Ashton, Edgar Pérez, Héctor Mercado, Victor Mercado, Jr. and Christian Pérez. He is also survived by many loving cousins and friends.
