He was predeceased by: his father Gene Berner Sr.; his grandmothers, Eva Berner and Annamae Campbell; and his aunt Helen Finta. He is survived by: his mother Patricia C. Berner; his siblings, Deborah Berner-Siciliano (Frank), Gene Berner Jr. (Terri Eaton), Patricia Squeglia (Stephen) and Daniel Berner (Stephanie); his nieces and nephews, Cameron Siciliano (Vanessa), Kalie Peccerillo (Ralph), Heather Berner (Nick Cerillo), Matthew Squeglia, Tristan Berner, Evelyn Berner and Henry Berner; his great-nephews, Beau and Lucas Siciliano; his godmother Phyllis Reed; his close friends, Jan and David; and his family, Joe, Gil, Barbara, Cheryl and Andre. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Porto Funeral Home (234 Foxon Rd, East Haven, CT 06513).
