She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Smithson and Marion Smithson (Grimshaw); her husband Robert Alves; and her sister Marion Woods. She is survived by: her sons, John Alves (Julia) of Florida and Robert Alves (Patricia) of Florida; and her grandchildren, Jeana Closinski (Douglas), John Alves (Kristen), Joanna Fairs (James), Brian Alves, Kevin Alves, Sydney Closinski, Ryan Alves, Avery Fairs and William Fairs.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (80 Taylor Ave, East Haven, CT 06512). A committal service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the All Saints Cemetery (700 Middletown Ave, North Haven, CT 06473). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
