He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elston Low and Ruth Low; his wife Barbara Johnson Low; his children, Elisabeth Austin Low (Roger MacKinnon) of Greely and Matthew Elston Low of Niantic; his granddaughters, Laurel and Clara MacKinnon; his pets, Buddy, Rocky and Nathan; his sister Eunice Low Dock (Sonny) of Kipnuk; and his siblings-in-law, William Johnson (Sharon) of Berlin and Beverly Nebelung (Marty Stelmach) of Niantic. He was also cherished by cousins and family friends.
