It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Herbert E. Berry of East Lyme, Connecticut, who passed away on February 13, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert E. Berry Sr. and Gladys Berry (Gray); his grandchild Jesse Rando; and his stepsiblings, Ernest Berry and Beth Rowe.

He is survived by : his children, Patty, Tom, Nancy, Betsy, Tim, Peg and Kate; his wife Pat; and his stepbrothers, John Berry of Macon and Edward Berry of Boulder, Colo.. He is also survived by his seven children and their spouses; twenty grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.

He also served as a consultant to authors documenting the submarine's contributions to Cold War clandestine activities.
