He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Joyce Cassidy and Lionel Allen Cassidy; his siblings, James Patrick Cassidy, Michael Scott Cassidy and Margaret Mary Cassidy; his granddaughter Arabella Grace Manwaring; his parents-in-law, Richard R. Boutin and Nanette Boutin; and his brother-in-law Ricky Boutin.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryle; his children, Ryan and Heather (Hull); his grandchildren, Richard, Ruby, Oliver, Aveline and Ilana; and his brothers, Brian, Thomas and Daniel.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home (48 Grand St, Niantic, CT 06357). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Agnes Church (22 Haigh Ave, Niantic, CT 06357).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Salem Youth Baseball League.
