He is survived by: his wife Nancy Viets (Polmatier); his children, Allison Thurston (Manny Birriteri) of Simsbury, Shannon Slater (Brent) of Vernon and Brian Thurston (Becky) of Vernon; his grandson Sylas Slater of Vernon; his sister Bette Jensen (Ed) of East Granby; his siblings-in-law, Robert and Dawn Polmatier of Stafford Springs; his nephew Jonathan Polmatier; his close friends, Michael and Cindy Dillon of Chicopee, MA; and his companions, Socks and Samantha.
