He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Scala and Rose Scala (DeMasi); and his siblings, Sebastian, Joseph Scala and Frances Giovanelli.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Scala (Biro); his sister Rose Marie McKeown (John) of Virginia; his sister-in-law Anna Scala of Stratford; and his nephew Michael.
