She is survived by: her children, Jayne Sterk (Christopher Sterk) of New Milford, CT and William Coward Sr. (Cindy Coward) of Easton, CT.; her grandchildren, Emily, Katie, Jack and Matthew; her great grandchild Eleanor; and her siblings, Marilyn Avartin and Raymond Zender (Hollis). She is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of their choice in honor of Joanne.
