He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth J. Rhoads (Kearns); his parents, Philip W. Rhoads and Joan Ross; his brother Kirk Rhoads; and his stepsiblings, A. J. Riddle and Paige A. Corrigan.
He is survived by: his children, Tobias J. Richard (Alexandra "Sasha" Alshuk) of Cheshire, Sean P. Richard (Desiree Ashton) of North Andover, Nicholas K. Rhoads of Ellington, Sorell E. (Marco Negro) of Fernandina Beach and Jennifer V. Rhoads of New York; his grandchildren, Gabel Richard of Cheshire, William, Mitchell Richard of North Andover, Giovanni Negro of Fernandina Beach, Irelyn, Aubrielle, Campbell Richard of Cheshire and Annabella Negro of Fernandina Beach; his stepbrother John Riddle of Windsor Locks; and his stepmother Katherine Rhoads of Naples. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
