Susan B. Papke Obituary
We announce the death of Susan B. Papke of Ellington, Connecticut, who passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 85. Susan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Henry Spence Brookes, Jr. and Ruth Crossen Brookes of Webster Groves, MO; her siblings, H. Spence Brookes III, James Crossen Brookes and Ann Kurz (Brookes); and her brother-in-law James Kurz.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Papke; her children, Ruth Flor (Matthew) of Tolland, CT, Spence W. Papke (Sharon) of Marlborough, MA and William "Bill" Papke (Rachel) of Portland, CT; her grandchildren, Logan Flor, Cassidy Flor, Will Papke, Henry Papke, Evangeline "Evie" Papke and Spence D. Papke; and her brother-in-law David Papke (Chris) of Hokah, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
