It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fern M. Steiger of Enfield, Connecticut, born in Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on July 21, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William P. Dostie and Mabel I. Dostie (Mullet); and her siblings, Durward "Dusty", Janice, Marilyn and Ronald.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Smith Steiger; her children, Robert Steiger (Georgina), Ronald Steiger and Amy Weaver (Jonathan); her grandchildren, Adam Steiger (Melody Slater), Donna Steiger (Jacob Cichy), Melissa Steiger (Aaron Merriam), Elizabeth Lee (Andrew), Timothy Mierta (Samantha), David Mierta, Sarah Pate (Stephen) and Rebekah Denner (Matthew); her great grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Ethan, Olivia Lee, Anna, Timothy, Samuel, Greyson Mierta, Caroline, Evelyn, Elliot Pate, Matthew, Michael, Madelyn Denner, Asher, Levi Cichy, Brynlee and Baby Boy Merriam; her sister-in-law Amy Greco (Steiger); her brother Reinhard; and her sister-in-law Patricia Steiger (Dostie). She is also survived by cousin, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, in memory of Fern, may be made to the Springfield Rescue Mission, Springfield, Massachusetts or to the First Baptist Church of Enfield, Enfield, Connecticut.
