She was predeceased by: her father Willard Smail; and her husband Donald W Barnes. She is survived by: her mother Hazel Smail; her children, Lisa Kozak of Enfield, Daniel Barnes (Dale) and Bonnie Pepper of Enfield; her grandchildren, Melanie Maloney, Heather Johnson, Mackenzie DiNallo, Jimilee Pepper, Summer Barnes, Raven Barnes and Michael Kozak; and her niece Terry. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson with a soon to be great-great-granddaughter.
A long-standing member of St. Martha's, Mary found solace in more recent years attending weekly online sermons at the Enfield Congregational Church, bridging her faith with the challenges of the pandemic.
