He was predeceased by : his parents, Philip Thomas and Ann Thomas (Hanley); and his wife Marjorie Helfrich of Agawam, MA.. He is survived by : his sister Janet Bailey of Enfield; his sons, Jeffery (Julie) of The Villages, FL, Mark of Becket, MA and David (Mary) of Somers, CT; his grandchildren, Jamie, David (Karla), Michael (Jaimee), Samuel (Catherine), Andrew, Jordan and Jared; and his close friend Loretta Larson of Tipp City, OH..

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at the Leete Stevens Enfield Chapels (61 S Rd, Enfield, CT 06082). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 12:45 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery (1390 Main St, Agawam, MA 01001).
