Thomas Ray Smart Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 6, 2025, Thomas Ray Smart (Essex, Connecticut) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Juliette Smart (Belanger); and his in-laws, Francis and Ann McLaughlin. He is survived by: his father Laren Smart; his wife Kathleen McLaughlin; his children, Thomas Smart Jr. (Courtney), Kathleen Smart and Meghan O'Briskie (Sean); his granddaughter Annie; his siblings, Paul Smart, Patricia LaGraves and Donna Arrajj; his godmother Cecile Belanger; and his aunt Eleanor Byrne.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Saint Agnes Catholic Church (22 Haigh Ave, Niantic, CT 06357).
In lieu of flowers, blood and platelet donations can be made through the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. Alternatively, monetary donations can be given in Tom's name to the Jimmy Fund at http://www.jimmyfund.org.
