She was predeceased by: her parents, Sol Yellin and Clara Yellin (Fitzel); and her husband Morton Robert Shapiro. She is survived by: her children, Eileen King (Gerry), Amy Shapiro and Michael Shapiro (Jennifer Neuhaus Shapiro); her grandchildren, Samantha King (Stephanie), David King (Shelby), Ty Shapiro, Jacob Tajchman, Ben Shapiro and Jack Shapiro; her siblings, Neil Yellin (Helen) and Sharon Glick (Gary); and her sister-in-law Marcy Perlmutter.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home (88 Beach Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824). A burial was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beth David Cemetery (300 Elmont Rd, Elmont, NY 11003). A shiva was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the King Residence - Easton.
In her 70s, she even became a certified clown and performed at charity events—a joyful extension of her generous and light-hearted nature.
