She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert J. Fischer and Virginia Thurston Fischer; her husband Richard James Van (Dick); and her sister Bobbi Fischer of Phoenix, AZ.. She is survived by: her children, Michael Van Gemert (Heather) of Houston, TX, Holly, Rosario (Ric) of Cascais, Carolyn Van Gemert of Madison, CT and Bradley Van Gemert (Elizabeth) of Monroe, CT; her grandchildren, Jack, Stephen, Carter, Max, Christian, Austin, Courtney, Jessica, Megan, Connor, Emily, Baron and Duke; and her niece Susie Baker of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
