He was predeceased by: his father Herbert "Skip" Shay, Jr.; and his siblings, Kimberly Shay and James Shay. He is survived by: his daughter Emily Palmer Shay of Fairfield; his mother Barbara McQuillan Shay of Fairfield; his siblings, Kevin Shay (Leslie) of Fairfield, Deborah Kozlowsky (Robert), Duke Kozlowsky, Sherwood Kozlowsky of Fairfield and Cindy Kozlowsky (Thomas Stockell) of Stratford; his nieces and nephews, Tayra Shay, Jason Shay, Tara Shay, Christopher Sherwood (Jackie), Julie Sherwood, Megan Kozlowski and Kayla Shay; Brandon Shay.
