He was predeceased by: his mother Pamela Lacy Lott. He is survived by: his wife Jennifer "Jenny" Gillis; his children, Eleanor "Ellie" Gillis Lott and James David "James" Lott III; his father James David Lott, Sr.; his siblings, Mary Evans Lott, Emily Lott Miller and William Lott; his mother-in-law Marcia Vogt Gillis; and his siblings-in-law, Kevin Gillis, Brendan Gillis, Kathleen Gillis, Lorna Lyle and Gretchen Gillis.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Aspetuck Land Trust, P.O. Box 444, Westport, CT 06881.
