He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Boland Caiola; and his parents, Joseph M. Caiola, Sr. and Dolores Plante Caiola. He is survived by: his daughters, Dana Merchant (Rob) of Fairfield and Tara Pacacha (Zach) of Shelton; his sister Joelle Caiola; his grandchildren, Sean Merchant of Fairfield, Jake, Ava and Maddon Pacacha of Shelton; his goddaughters, Amber Caiola of Milford, Joanna Rosen of Trumbull and Jenelle Bartel of Orange; and his pets, Zoey and Missy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
