She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Joel Peskay; her daughter Elissa; and her grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Charlie, Lila and Ella. She was also cherished by her children, grandchildren, and countless students, friends, and neighbors.
During the COVID-19 pandemic she led a volunteer initiative that sewed and donated thousands of face masks to protect vulnerable community members.
