He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Planeta (Nagy); his parents, Walter H. Planeta, Sr. and Mabel Planeta (Weir); and his sisters, Muriel Wells and Dorothea Willette.
He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Ann Planeta of Norwalk and David Planeta of Fairfield; and his grandchildren, Kyle and Dylan Planeta. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
