Alexandrina Sergio Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alexandrina Sergio of Glastonbury, Connecticut, who passed away on February 5, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, David Bain of Portobello and Patricia Campbell Bain of Tubbercurry; her sister Margaret Boone; her brother-in-law John Boone; and her daughter Stacy.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Gillian, Stacy and Lauren; her child Sandy; her husband David Sergio; her children, Stephen Sergio of Glastonbury, Gillian Burdett (Eric) of Warrensburg, NY and Lauren Sergio (Meg Gibson) of Toronto; her grandchildren, Jeremy Craven, Nathaniel Burdett (Shelby), Lindsay Sergio and Alistair Sergio; her great grandchildren, Emery and Hudson Burdett; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Sergio, Pam Moran and Judith Anderson (Joel). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends.

As the executive director of The Hartford Courant Foundation, she managed the allocation of over 1300 grants, developed grantmaking protocols, and managed a scholarship program for minority students.
