As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert C. Shumway and Harriet Shumway (Melcher). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Shumway (Clifford); his daughters, Danielle and Nicole of Glastonbury; his siblings, David (Heather Arnet) of Huntington, NY and Barbara Altamirano (Edwin) of Watertown, CT; and his friends, Mike Pinevich, Bill and Sylvia Green. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mulryan Funeral Home (725 Hebron Ave, Glastonbury, CT 06033).
