He was predeceased by : his mother Madeline Edwards (Urrichio); his wife Linda Marie Edwards (Nuterangelo); and his extended family Sandra Yeary Bennett. He is survived by : his father Earl Edwards of Granby, CT; his son Michael (Sabrina Edwards) of Granby, CT; his siblings, Walter (Dorie Edwards) of Enfield, Paul (Paula Edwards) of Black River, NY, James (Donna Edwards) of Fountain Inn, SC, Marie (James Chase) of Granby and Susan Edwards of Levittown, PA; his extended family Lisa Rineheart of Newark, DE; and his friend Kelly Tor (Terry) of Windsor, CT..

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home (364 Salmon Brook St, Granby, CT 06035). A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.

Thomas was very passionate in donating to causes such as St. Jude's and to organizations such as the Baseball Hall of Fame, of which he was a member for several years.
