He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick L. Hobby and Margaret DeLeo Hobby; and his siblings, William H. Hobby and Margaret'Peggy'Hobby Drenckhahn. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his daughters, Mary Lynn and Jill (Michael); his granddaughter Thea; and his siblings, Sally Hobby Owen, Frederick L. Hobby, Jr., Josephine Hobby Koellmer and Margaret Hobby Koellmer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gerald's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
